An old hay barn during a a thunderstorm in Utah’s Cache Valley. A large rural mountain valley in northern Utah, the Cache Valley is one of Utah’s top agricultural areas, providing land for cattle, milk and cheese production, and the growing of wheat, barley and hay.  The valley is located between to the Wellsville Mountains to the west and the Bear River Mountains to the east. Both ranges are part of the larger Wasatch Mountain Range that dominates northern Utah.

The Cache Valley gets its name, from the fact that early fur trappers created caches in the valley to protect and hide their goods from thieves.

A view of Causey Reservoir in northern Utah, near the peak of Fall color. Causey is an earthfill dam covering 142-acres that was completed in 1966 on the South Fork of the Ogden River in Wasatch Mountains east of Huntsville.  The reservoir offers a sports fishery that supports, Kokanee Salmon and various trout species including rainbow, cutthroat, and brown.

Camp Kiesel, a Boy Scout camp, is located on the northern arm of the reservoir.
