About the Guide

The What and the Why?

Anybody who has spent enough time trying to capture the world’s most beautiful places has undoubtedly come to the realization that at least half the battle is doing the research necessary to find what you are looking for and working out the details of when to go, and how to get there. This site is an attempt to summarize all the research I have done over the years. One might call it the compilation of the ultimate bucket list, a bucket list that may never be fully complete. But as the saying goes, what’s most important is the journey, not the final destination.

The only expertise I bring to the table is the same brought by any photographer – the eyes they were born with, the personal perspective that shapes them through the years, and the drive to seek out and capture the ultimate photograph.

Given the shear vastness of the planet on which we live, even with all the technology that has made it smaller, no one has or can see all there is to see. So if somewhere along the way, among the many topics I hope to cover, you think I have passed over something amazing, let me know and I’ll consider it for inclusion. Unlike a printed travel guide, nothing online should be closed to new information, or it’s probably outlived its usefulness.
