The Neon Dragon Sign is an iconic feature of Ogden’s Historic Downtown, and for more than 60 years hug above the Star Noodle Parlor, before the building was sold in 2007. The sign was restored to its place on 25th street, along with part of its original look (it went through many incarnations) in 2015.

Developed in the 1880’s the Salt Lake Valley is noted for its extensive irrigation canals, that convey water from mountain streams and Utah Lake throughout the valley using a series of canals running parallel to the Jordan River. The picture above is from West Jordan during the winter time, after the fall harvest when water is no longer needed. While in the past the water was used primarily for growing crops, now serves a largely residential homes, with orchards, lawns, landscaping and gardens.

Historic Francis Tate Barn - Heber Valley - Wasatch Mountains

The historic Francis Tate Barn, in the Wasatch Mountains of northern Utah. The barn is located in the Heber Valley near Solider Hollow. Deer Creek Reservoir which sits in the Provo River drainage, and stores water coming down from the Uinta Mountains to the east, is seen in the distance. Francis Tate, was an English emigrant, who established a dairy farm near the barn’s current location. The original barn was built in 1902, and a rebuilt barn following the design of the original was constructed in the run-up to the 2002 Winter Olympics.
