It was the second temple built in Utah and the 5th operating temple of the Mormon Church. The Logan Temple was dedicated in 1884. It sits on a hill that overlooks the city, and its architecture is reminiscent of the Gothic Revival style. The temple’s exterior is made of white granite and its spires can be seen from miles away.

Chesterfield is a ghost town located in the Gem Valley, in the eastern part of Idaho. It was founded in 1881 Mormon pioneers and was a thriving agricultural community with a population of over 400 people at its peak in the early 20th century. However, the town began to decline in the 1920s due to a combination of factors, including a fire that destroyed much of the downtown area, a drought, and the Great Depression.

Today, Chesterfield is a well-preserved ghost town and has become a popular tourist destination. Visitors can explore the town’s historic buildings, including the schoolhouse, church, and general store, which have been restored to their original condition. The town also has a museum that showcases artifacts and exhibits related to its history.

The temple was dedicated in 1995, by church president Howard W. Hunter. The Temple shares a common floor plan with the Timpanogos LDS Temple located in American Fork, Utah. On May 22, 2016, the Temple made headlines when a lightning bolt struck and damaged the Angel Moroni statue atop the Temple’s spire.
