The Tyler Davidson Fountain at night in Fountain Square – Cincinnati, Ohio.

Fountain square was built in 1871, and is considered the symbolic center of Cincinnati. The fountain was built in memory of Tyler Davidson, by Henry Probasco. Probasco commissioned the fountain from Ferdinand von Millerhad and named it the Genius of Water.

The Fire Company 16 Firehouse is the oldest remaining historic fire station in Cincinnati. Its located in the hilltop neighborhood of Walnut Hills, which was annexed by the city in 1869. The construction of the firehouse, in 1870 was one of the conditions for annexation into Cincinnati. The building was designed by Samuel Hannaford, and is an example of the Italianate architectural style common at that time.

Fire Company 16, used steam-powered fire engines, until motorized fire trucks were introduced in 1918. The station was disbanded in 1978, after a fire damaged the building the previous year.

The building to the right of it, is another historic structure, known as the Hamilton House.

The John A. Roebling Suspension Bridge, originally known as the Cincinnati-Covington Bridge was renamed in honor of its designer and builder. When it opened in 1867, it was the longest suspension bridge in the world. Roebling is also known for designing what would become the Brooklyn Bridge in New York. However due to his death during the course of the project, finishing that bridge fell to his son, Washington Roebling, who completed the Brooklyn Bridge in 1883.
