Statue of Liberty Barn Mural – Ogden Valley – Utah

The painting on this barn is derived from the Statue of Liberty, in the harbor of New York City. The Statue of Liberty is a colossal neoclassical sculpture on Liberty Island. The copper-clad statue, a gift to the United States from the people of France, was designed by French sculptor Frédéric Auguste Bartholdi and its metal framework was built by Gustave Eiffel.

The statue of liberty is recognized as a universal symbol of freedom and democracy. The Statue of Liberty was dedicated on October 28, 1886. It was designated as a National Monument in 1924.

The statue is strongly associated with immigrants to America largely due to its proximity to Ellis Island, and one of the first things early immigrants saw upon arrival in New York City from Europe.
