A winding pathway descends through a lush, green forest, flanked by a large rock face on one side and a wooden fence on the other. A sign along the path announces that rock climbing is prohibited, ensuring the safety of visitors and the preservation of the natural area.

The preserve includes 268 acres of gorges along two miles of the Little Miami River. It is part of a series of adjoining parks that include the Glen Helen Nature Preserve and John Bryan State Park, which add almost 2,000 additional acres of protected area.

Falls of the Ohio Dam Sunset – Louisville, Kentucky

A view of water flowing over the McAlpine Locks and Dam, at the Falls of the Ohio, on the Ohio River. The dam resides between the city of Clarksville, Indiana, and Louisville, Kentucky. The dam and locks were constructed to allow cargo vessels to safely traverse a large cataract (waterfall) on the Ohio River. The Falls of the Ohio is known for it 390-million-year-old fossil beds, which are among the largest exposed Devonian fossil beds in the world.
